DIY Unconventional Headboards for Kids

In our last house we went through a lot of milestones with my daughter. One of the biggest being the transition from a crib to a toddler bed to a big girl bed. And because my parents happened to have a full sized bed they needed to get rid of at the time, that's what she got. The only problem is that, two years later, I still don't have a headboard for her room. We made do with some fun artwork above the bed for awhile:

But I'm ready to get something more substantial. Being me though, I want an unconventional look. Here are a few of my favorite DIY project ideas:

Help me pick! Which one is your favorite?

  1. #1 Is my pick! Soooo cute! #5 is a close second though. :)

  2. Six! So stinkin' cute. But not as a chalkboard, just as a cool headboard shape. Just think of the Cricut possibilities! ;)

  3. I like #1 as well. Enough that I think I'm going to have to look into making one myself...
