New Home "Before" Pictures and an Inspiration Board

As promised, a tour of my new home! I have big plans for it, but until then, everything has to have a "before" picture, right?? Over the next months, heck, years, I will be sharing the updates we make to our new home . I hope you'll tag along.

The Kitchen

Things I love about the kitchen: Closed off from the front door, the shape, counter space, proximity to laundry room, dining area and huge windows. Things I don't love: Honey oak, tile, appliances.

The Laundry Room and Hallway

Things I love: Laundry room right off kitchen and garage, hardwood floors, pantry. Things I don't love: Honey oak, tile, light fixtures.

The Bedrooms

Things I love about the bedrooms: Large windows, plush carpet, molding. Things I don't love: Light fixtures, paint colors, blinds.

Master Closet and Bathroom

Master Bedroom

Things I love about the master suite: Huge bay windows, settee area, walk-in closet, large room. Things I don't love: Paint color, honey oak, blinds, light fixtures and fan.

Stairs to the Basement and Kid's Bathroom

Things I don't love: Paint color, honey oak, tiny toilet and the unfinished basement.

Front Living Room

Things I love about the front living room: Huge bay windows, glass front door, size, vaulted ceilings, layout, hardwood floors. Things I don't love: Paint color, honey oak, blinds, wimpy molding.

We have a lot of work to do, but I really love a ton of things about the house. While I'm letting some of my ideas stew while the basement is being finished, I already have big plans for the front living area...want to see my inspiration board?

I want to play off the colors gray, navy and turquoise with mixing patterns, textures and metals.

Think I can do it?

  1. Congratulations! It's going to be amazing. I'm pretty handy with a paintbrush, so give me a call when you're ready to go!

    1. Thanks Elleny. I'm thinking of using the wood whim mirror I made in the design.
