Etsy Party 2012

We had such a blast at the 2012 Etsy party I hosted at my humble home. There was food, good conversation and crafting...what could be better than that? We started a 7PM, time slipped away and before we knew it, it was past 11PM. Want a taste of the fun?

Before the event started, I made a few samples of what they could possibly make. The Etsy theme was "Wish You Were Here" and I interpreted that into map-inspired home decor.

Examples for the guests.
I made a wall hanging for each state I've lived in.
Left to Right: Utah mod podged onto fabric covered wood board;  Idaho painted onto a fabric wrapped board; punched map hearts from the birthplace of my sister, her husband and their new baby; Montana nail art

Decor.
Recognize the banner? It's the same banner I used for my sister's baby shower. I simply replaced the words "baby food" with map cut-outs.

 Supplies.
A bunch of the supplies were donated by Michael's for the Etsy Craft Party. The rest was from my personal crafty stash.

Crafting!

Finished projects.
People finished and left at all different times, so I didn't get a picture of everyone's project, but these are some of my faves.
Left to Right: Argentina cut-out mod podged onto a blue paper background and black spray painted board; Utah nail art on painted wood board; Minnesota nail art on map-wrapped wood board; "Quite a Pear" wall hanging with map cut-outs of places the couple has lived and a pear for each of their children!

Thank you to everyone that came! Can't wait to do this again next year!

  1. Wow, that state nail art is awesome! I would love to try it. Do you have a DIY with the steps? I've never done any nail/string art before.
