Felt Alphabet Necklace

How awesome is this from Tonky Designs via Inhabitots? It is out of stock now, but it was going for $90. Holy Cow.

Can I tell you a secret? Everything I see, no joke, everything, I wonder to myself if I could recreate it. From clothing to hats to crafts to home decor, I find myself building it or making it myself. This kind of thinking lends itself to many failed projects, but out of some of those ideas come really cool results. This necklace is something that I think we could recreate. Here are some ideas how:
  • The Dollar Store usually has foam letter stickers in the "school supplies" aisle. Why not punch those stickers out, glue them together in this same pattern, punch a small hole in the letter A & Z and attach a chain with jump rings?
  • Use a die cut to cut the letters out of black fabric. This necklace was made out of felt. Go over to your local fabric store and buy 1/2 yard of will probably cost you $2.
Voila! A $90 necklace made by you for under $5.
